This looks like it's coming from the XSDHandler (org/apache/xerces/impl/xs
/traversers/XSDHandler.java).  Specifically, the getSchemaDocument() routine.

Are there nuances here that I'm unaware of? (ie. since it looks like it wouldn
't be that hard to catch the 3 types of errors individually, why isn't it
already written that way?)
